We participated in the ‘Bluffton Village Festival’. This is an annual event in Mother’s Day weekend in Bluffton, SC. This was our second year at the festival. This year, however, the Rotary Club (which sponsors it) started advertising on the Savannah TV stations. There were 230 vendors at the festival. The crowd was huge this year. There are a number of excellent woodturners in Bluffton, and two of them were present as vendors in addition to us; one specializes in  large bowls, and the other turns segmented pieces. It was a great show as we nearly sold out of all of the ikebanas. I turn dymondwood stoppers (laminated dyed wood imprenated with resin - it polishes up to a high luster), and they were also quite popular. My wife’s ribbon and fabric bows were a hit with the younger children and grandmothers.

We participated in the ‘1st Saturday on the River’ in Savannah, GA. This is a monthly craft show right along the Savannah River. This was our second show, having done the Christmas Show in December. The weather was extraordinary, and there were many tourist and people walking around the riverfront. It was a very successful show.
